John is a M.Sc. student at Colorado State University. He received his Bachelors degree in Botany with a minor in Zoology and Aquaponics design from the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa. John’s current study is on the genomic analysis and development of molecular markers for identification and quantification of highly virulent strains of the koa wilt fungus, Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. koae. His research involves molecular characterization, phylogenetic analysis, bioinformatics and virulence assays of Fusarium spp. that cause disease on tree hosts.
